From September 17 to October 10 of the current year, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan successfully implemented a professional development program for university leaders at ALT University named after M. Tynyshpayev in Almaty.
The program focused on the application of artificial intelligence in the system of higher education and science. The program aimed to develop competencies essential for digital transformation and enhancing the digital maturity of universities.
Among the keynote speakers were the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, and Vice Minister Gulzat Kobenova. In his speech, the Minister emphasized that the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies is a key factor in increasing the competitiveness of the national education system, highlighting the particular importance of training qualified personnel in this field.
The final stage of the program took place on October 9–10 in the format of a seminar titled “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in the System of Higher Education and Science”. The event brought together more than 100 participants from 40 higher education institutions across the country.
During the training, university leaders explored both international and domestic experience in applying artificial intelligence in education and science, practical cases of using AI in university management, modern digital marketing tools, and opportunities to optimize business processes through AI technologies.
The moderators of the seminar were:
- Zhakypova Fatima Nadyrovna — Head of the Academic Excellence and Global Competitiveness Project Group at the Project Management Office of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
