From September 15 to September 19, Almaty hosted the first international film festival "Almaty Film Festival". We are 2 year students of the Faculty of International Relations of the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan Zhazylbek Alibek, Kaliyeva Aruzhan, Duysengaliyeva Adina became volunteers at the main event of this year.
15 th of September was opening of the film festival. All prominent producers, directors, actors and all fans of the film industry gathered in the Palace of the Republic. On the red carpet you could see all the stars. Our work, volunteers, began much earlier. Volunteers are an integral part of any event. Since this festival was held for the first time, accordingly, we were given a huge responsibility to conduct everything at a decent level. Volunteers were from different universities and schools, such as CDU, KazGU, Nazarbayev school. This allowed me to make new acquaintances. We were assigned to certain positions and each performed his work. I like to communicate with people and during these days I met "masters" of work from different countries of the world, such as France, Germany, China, Korea.
One of my favorite actors is Sanjar Madiev and I was very glad to meet him at the Almaty Film Festival. At events of this scale you understand how important it is to know several foreign languages, since it was necessary to help foreign guests. This is an excellent language practice. This film festival had a very rich program. In addition to films in cinemas, round tables, press conferences, master classes were also held. September 19th was the ceremony of awarding and closing of the Almaty Film Festival. This event allowed not only the disclosure of organizational abilities, but also provided an opportunity to learn a lot about the film industry in Kazakhstan and in the world. I want to express my deep gratitude to the leadership of our University, the branch of the League of Volunteers that they gave us the opportunity to become part of the international event.
