First Regional SDG Summit

November 16, 2019 students (Aiidam Tuigunova, Kamila Seidasimova, Ayaulym Temirzhan) and Deputy Dean of International Relations Faculty Axamal Issaliyeva participated in the First Regional SDG Summit: Mobilization of financial resources for the implementation of sustainable development goals, organized by the Ministry of National Economy with the support of the Asian Development Bank and United Nations Development Program in Kazakhstan.

The Summit will took place in the UN House in Almaty. 

The Programme of the Summit included sessions that aimed to deep dive into issues related to energy, water and climate change.  

The summit brought together interested experts from the CAREC, the World Bank, the EBRD, scientists from different regions of the world to discuss regional aspects of integration aimed at finding sources of financing to achieve the SDGs, as well as to identify gaps and agree on possible mutually beneficial solutions.

Expressing sincere gratitude for the invitation, students would like to note that the participation in this high level event was very impressive and inspired to make their own contribution to the implementation of the SDGs.
