On December 5 of this year, teachers of the Department of Kazakh Philology of the University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan, Ph.D., Associate Professor Nurmysheva Sh.A., Ph.D., Associate Professor Darkenbaeva Zh.K., Ph.D. Associate Professor Kopbaeva Zh.S., M.P.Sc., senior lecturer Tungatova G.Zh., M.Ped.Sc., senior lecturer Khamimuldinova L.Zh. held a festive event among 1st year students of the Russian department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies on the topic “Independence is the great dream of our ancestors”, dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At this significant evening, the head of the department, Ph.D., Professor B.K. Akkozhina made an opening speech.
At the event, which was held with the aim of patriotic education of youth and popularization of independence, students published wall newspapers and read poems dedicated to Independence Day. After watching a video about the December events and touching history, the students realized that the country's independence is the result of the great feat of their ancestors.
Students prepared slides where they shared interesting facts about the achievements of our state over 32 years of Independence and the events that raised the country. Answering quiz questions related to the history of the country during the years of formation of sovereignty, students received a lot of information. At the end of the evening, teachers and students of the department sang the song “Atameken” together. The festive event was interesting, and the participants left in high spirits.
