On April 8, 2024, a meeting was held with representatives of Walailak University at the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages. Walailak University was represented by the University President, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyavong, Dr. Montian Setkit, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, Director of the Center for International Relations, Dr. Pankeowta Lakkanavanit, Chairman of the Doctoral Program in Management.
The meeting is dedicated to discussing the prospects for cooperation between the two universities and expanding academic exchanges. The President of Walailak University, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyavong, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet and expressed hope for long-term and fruitful cooperation with our university.
Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, Dana Anuvarbekovna Kunanbayeva, expressed the university’s willingness to develop partnerships within the framework of the exchange of best practices in the field of education and science.
During the meeting, the parties discussed further prospects for cooperation in the development of a double degree program in the EP «International Business», academic mobility of teaching staff and students in the EP «International Business» and «Tourism». Both parties discussed the implementation of joint publication activities, as well as the exchange of scientific data.
Representatives of Walailak University visited the Ablai Khan Museum, the Museum of Ethnography, and the reading room named after. M. Kopylenko. A lecture was organized to university students by Dr. Patnarin Supakorn, director of the WU Center for International Relations.
