On April 23, 2024, the Department of Foreign Language Education Methodology, with the support of the Foreign languages teacher training faculty students, held a professional orientation event – a subject Olympiad in English for secondary school students.
The main goals of the Olympiad were:
- to identify significant educational achievements of students in terms of mastering the necessary English language skills for professional and educational purposes,
- to increase the motivation of students to further study the English language and culture,
- to Identify gifted students,
- to introduce the University and the Teacher Training Faculty to secondary school students,
- to expand cooperation with school administration and staff.
The program of the subject Olympiad in English, in addition to the lexical and grammatical test and solving a pedagogical situation, included a tour of the university, a presentation of the faculty and a quiz organized by the teaching staff of the Department of Foreign Language Education Methodology and the Student council.
The participants of the Olympiad showed interest in the history of the University, scientific research, as well as the organization of the educational process within the framework of the educational program "Teacher of two foreign languages".
