The Department of International Law of JSC " Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages" with the support of the Almaty City Social Development Department and Public Foundation «Parasatty Urpak Ushin», within the framework of the project implementation on the theme «Almaty-Adaldyk Alany», held a seminar-conference on the topic "Legal culture as the main condition for minimizing corruption in society" on September 26, 2024, to implement measures aimed at raising the level of legal awareness and legal culture of citizens as the main direction for combating, suppressing and eradicating corruption in society.

The conference program was devoted to the discussion of practical issues in the field of law related to raising the level of legal awareness of citizens in the field of suppressing corruption, the formation of mechanisms of legal influence, the development and effective implementation of a strategy for creating a lawful behavior model, increasing the identification of law in the public consciousness and legal literacy of each citizen to ensure effective and systematic counteraction to corruption.
Vice-Rector for Administrative and Organizational Work Nurgabylov Umirzak Sharapovich delivered an opening speech to the conference participants. He noted that the conference is aimed at information exchange of knowledge in the field of forming anti-corruption legal awareness of citizens and effective mechanisms for combating corruption.

In their speeches, the speakers focused on the main problematic issues related to the eradication of the causes of corruption and strengthening measures to prevent it, legal nihilism that hinders the fight against corruption, the introduction of modern methods of combating corruption in Kazakhstan, the involvement of civil society in combating corruption, the development of the Almaty-Loyalty Square project against corruption, the formation of academic honesty as a factor in creating an atmosphere of intolerance to corruption in the higher education system.
As a result of the conference, the speakers were awarded letters of gratitude on behalf of the head of the project office “Almaty Adaldyk Alany” in Almaty, the president of the Public Foundation “Parasatty Urpak Ushin” M.M. Kalimoldin, and memorable gifts.
Having discussed the current situation and prospects, the conference participants are confident that only through joint efforts of the state and civil society it can be possible to outline directions that will significantly minimize the level of corruption crimes committed in society.
Overall, the conference was excellent, all participants enjoyed the discussions, and participants acquired new and useful knowledge.
