On May 30, 2024, the annual "Job Fair 2024" was held at Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL for 3rd- and 4th-year students. The event was organized by the Center for Internship and Employment under the Academic Administration. The main goal of the job fair was to facilitate the employment of graduates by enabling direct interaction between employers and job seekers.
The job fair brought together representatives from government agencies, leading domestic and international companies in banking, tourism, trade, services, international cooperation, public relations, and the restaurant and hospitality industries. Colleges, schools, gymnasiums, lyceums, university graduates, and students also took part in the event.
Employers presented job opportunities and conducted preliminary candidate screenings. More than 64 employers introduced their organizations and job openings to 1,200 students during the event.
Participating companies included LLP “CU Central Asia,” CNLC International Kazakhstan Inc., JSC “Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Almaty” (ICBC Bank), KZ.EXPO, Eurasian Bank, PetroChina International Pipeline Company, and Koryo Ilbo, a national newspaper published in Korean and Russian. Also present were Net Light Lab, Turan TV, PR Business Agency, Alatau Aqparat, and the NUR.kz news portal.
Representatives of Almaty's Labor Mobility Center informed students about employment support services and provided details on programs such as “Youth Practice,” “First Workplace,” “Generational Contract,” “Public Works,” and “Social Workplaces.” They also introduced the National Project "Strong Regions – the Driver of the Country’s Development" and discussed youth microloan opportunities offered by the Agricultural Credit Corporation, AGROCREDIT.
Arulan Amantaiuly Zhakabay, Chief Specialist at the RSE "Department of Judicial Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Almaty," outlined the hiring process for law enforcement and government agencies.
Among the presenting companies was "Mansap4U," a youth job platform offering vacancies for students. Its representatives explained how graduates can quickly and easily find suitable job opportunities on the site with just one click.
Participating schools, including MSE "Gymnasium No. 36 named after B. Atykhanuly" under the Almaty Department of Education, Institution "Lyceum INTERLINGUA," MSE "School-Gymnasium No. 202" under the Almaty Department of Education, and the Almaty branch of the Public Foundation "NNEF" (International School of Almaty), conducted preliminary interviews with future graduates. They also provided information on in-demand vacancies and new hiring conditions in schools.
This year, the InterPress Language Center and the official IELTS testing center, IDP IELTS Kazakhstan, joined the job fair for the first time. We look forward to building a long-term partnership with these organizations.
The job fair is growing into the largest career event dedicated to helping graduates find employment and launching their careers. It also strengthens mutually beneficial partnerships between employers and the Center for Internship and Employment at Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL.
