In order to promote legal culture in society and prevent offenses among young people, on September 18–19, 2025, the Department of international law organized a series of lectures in the format of awareness-raising and educational discussions with students of the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, with the participation of representatives of the Almaty Police Department.
The program of the meeting was devoted to pressing issues of maintaining public order, preventing offenses among young people, combating cyber and drug-related crimes, as well as the legal regulation of e-scooter use in urban areas.
The meeting was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, Law and Business, Kudaibergenov Nuradin Aiypovich, who emphasized the importance of fostering a high level of legal culture among young people, encouraging an active civic position, and promoting responsible compliance with the law.
The discussion was attended by Yeleussizov Aitan Zhanamanovich – Deputy Head of the Local Police Service Department; Omarov Aspandiyar Kuandykuly - Police Captain, Investigator for especially important cases, Department for Combating Cybercrime; Kobeev Dauren Askarovich - Senior Investigator for especially important cases, Department for Combating Drug Crimes; Bataev Nariman Erganatuly – Head of the Department for Personnel Affairs; Kuchukov Kairat Makhambetovich – PhD in Law, Professor of the Department of International Law at the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages; as well as faculty members and students of the university.
In their reports, the speakers focused on key issues related to the prevention of cybercrime among young people, outlined its causes and possible consequences, emphasized the importance of joint efforts in combating drug trafficking as a duty of every citizen, and clarified the legal aspects of using e-scooters in public spaces.
Following the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that only through joint efforts of the state, law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, and civil society it is possible to effectively respond to modern challenges and threats.
During the session, students demonstrated great interest, actively asked questions, and discussed the importance of legal literacy, adherence to the law, and personal responsibility for strengthening security and public order in society.
Overall, the event was held in a constructive and productive atmosphere. All participants gained valuable knowledge and practical recommendations that will contribute to strengthening legal culture and fostering an active civic position among young people.
