On October 8, 2025, at Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages (KazUIR&WL), Acting Rector Dana Anuvarbekovna Kunanbayeva held a meeting with a delegation from Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) - one of the oldest and most prestigious public universities in the Republic of Korea.

In her welcoming remarks, Acting Rector D.A. Kunanbayeva emphasized that the university highly values its strong and mutually beneficial cooperation with leading higher education institutions of South Korea. At present, KazUIR&WL successfully collaborates with Jeonbuk National University, Pai Chai University, and Chung-Ang University.
The South Korean delegation was headed by the President of Jeonbuk National University, O-Bong Yang. The South Korean delegation was led by Jeonbuk National University President O-Bong Yang. The delegation also included Hwa-Rim Cho, Vice President for International Relations, Oh-Bong Yang, Rector of Jeongbuk National University, Hwa-Rim Cho, Vice President of the Department of International Relations, and Kyungseo Kim, Coordinator of the Office of International Relations.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding academic mobility for students and faculty members, conducting joint research - including in the field of artificial intelligence - and implementing cultural projects aimed at strengthening mutual understanding between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
“Exchange programs provide our students with unique opportunities for academic and cultural growth. We invite South Korean students to join KazUIR&WL’s Summer School for studying Kazakh or Russian languages, which will mark a new stage in the development of bilateral partnership,” noted D.A. Kunanbayeva.

Both sides expressed their commitment to further developing and strengthening their partnership on a mutually beneficial basis, expanding academic and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
The cooperation between Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages and Jeonbuk National University stands as a vivid example of effective international collaboration in education and science, aimed at training competitive specialists and fostering friendly relations between the two countries.
