Traditionally, June 4 is celebrated in Kazakhstan as the Day of State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The holiday was established in 2007 and has since become a symbol of respect for the country's state attributes—the Flag, the Coat of Arms, and the National Anthem. The date was chosen deliberately, as it was on June 4, 1992, that the state symbols of independent Kazakhstan were officially approved.
In Almaty, the central event of the celebrations was the ceremonial raising of the State Flag at the Medeu High-Mountain Sports Complex.
The event was attended by the Akim of Almaty, Darkhan Satybaldy, representatives of municipal organizations, as well as faculty members and students from higher educational institutions across the city. The participation of young people added special significance to the event, highlighting the continuity of generations and respect for the national symbols.

The ceremony began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Accompanied by the anthem, the State Flag was raised as a symbol of national unity, the country's independence, and pride in Kazakhstan’s achievements.
In their remarks, representatives of the city administration emphasized the importance of state symbols as a foundation for patriotic education, the strengthening of civic identity, and a deeper understanding of the significance of Kazakhstan’s independence.
Following the official ceremony, a festive concert program was organized for the participants. Creative groups performed on stage, patriotic songs were presented, and students actively supported the performers, creating a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere.
The celebration at Medeu concluded in a solemn yet warm atmosphere. Participants noted that such events not only emphasize the significance of the state symbols but also bring people together, strengthening the sense of national pride, unity, and patriotism.
