Zhibek Alikulova, a 3rd-year student in the Journalism educational program at the Department of International Communications at Ablai Khan KazUIR&WL, demonstrated the high standard of training provided to the university's future media professionals by successfully completing the two-day professional training course 'Business Journalism: From Fact to Insight. AI, Data, Investments, and Analytics' in Almaty.

The intensive course was organized by the U.S. Consulate General in Almaty. Out of hundreds of applications from across Kazakhstan, a rigorous competitive selection process was passed by 25 leading media professionals, including active editors, investigative journalists, media trainers, and PR experts. Remarkably, only two students from Kazakhstani universities were among these industry professionals—one of whom represented KazUIR&WL.

As part of the program, participants mastered:
- Practical methods of fact-checking and media content verification (experts from the MediaNet International Centre for Journalism);
- Algorithms for detecting fakes and mitigating 'hallucinations' in language models;
- Setting up AI assistants to automate newsroom workflows;
- Uncovering insights in large financial datasets and business analytics (the 'Ruchnaya Ekonomika' publication).

Following the training and team project defenses, Zhibek Alikulova successfully passed the final assessment and received a qualification certificate, confirming the high level of preparation among future journalists at KazUIR&WL.
