On February 1, 2019 there took place the fourth festive evening "The holiday of spring" in honor of the Chinese new year organized by Confucius's institute and the faculty of oriental studies of the Kazakh Ablai khan University of International Relations and World Languages between the universities of Almaty.

According to the press service of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature of Iran, the secretariat of the 10th Farabi International Festival received 5649 articles. According to the results of the jury there were selected 16 domestic, 7 foreign and 13 scientific works.

From January 6 to 11, the International Youth Forum on the Peaceful Unification of Korea was held in Korea (Seoul). Each country was represented by only one participant. With the support of the company “Asia Exchange Assistance and GKL” , a 4th year student of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Languages ​​and Translation of the Far East region, Bizhanov Yerzhan represented Kazakhstan.

⠀ On January 17 the faculty of oriental studies organized a meeting with the polyglot Amir Ordabayev, hence an interesting and informative conversation took place. Amir Ordabayev is a polyglot, speaks 9 foreign languages, a moderator in “The Social Element” company

On January 22   A scholarship from the Graduates Association of KazUIR&WL handed over. According to the results of the competition, the scholarship was awarded to Ismailova Akbota, the 2nd year student, the specialty "Foreign philology: Korean language". The competition was held among the 2nd year students of the specialty Foreign Philology: Korean.

On October 25-26, 2018, Astana hosted the Fair of Results of Capacity Building in Higher Education Projects (CBHE) Erasmus+. This event contributed to familiarizing a wide range of stakeholders with the results of the Erasmus+ CBHE projects to enhance their multiplier effect.

On January 14-21, 2019, the University of Liege hosts the meeting of the Erasmus+: Higher Education - International Capacity Building “Implementation of Education Quality Assurance System through the Cooperation of University - Business-Government in HEIs (EDUQAS)” project management team.

The students of our faculty presented handmade products, books and other different staffs. Everyone could buy fresh pastries leaving a voluntary contribution. Thanks to the active support of students all the raised money was directed to the bank account of a little girl Zhakeyeva Aknur's parents.

On December 10, 2018, the University of Turan organized the Republican competition on the theme "Trinity of languages - a unique project of successful development of Kazakhstan" among students of 3-4  years of the specialties "International Relations", "Regional Studies" and "Oriental Studies".
