KOREAN CUISINE DAY

On March 30, the Day of Korean Cuisine was held in the banquet hall of  KazUIR&WL, timed to coincide with the celebration of the bright holiday of Nauryz. The event was attended by about 90 students of the 1st and 2nd year of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, studying the Korean language. Our native speaking teachers showed the students how to cook and varieties of gimbap and taught them how to cook teokbokki.

The event was held in a free form, students could ask questions regarding the intricacies of Korean cuisine, and receive first-hand answers. After the event, students acquired new skills, got the opportunity to practice Korean and, of course, enjoy Korean dishes. The event was organized by the Center for Korean Studies and teachers of the Korean Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies with the support of the Korean Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan.
