At the Pedagogical Faculty of Foreign Languages, on 15 April 2022, teachers of the Department of Theory and Practice of Intercultural Communication held an event on watching the film "The Real Chernobyl" with 3-year students based on MS Teams.
The event included: discussion of the film (answers-questions) and the completion of tasks in stages:
- Pre-watching
- While-watching
- Post- watching
At the beginning of the film, the participants of the event expressed their views on the quotes of famous people about the Chernobyl tragedy indicated in the Power Point presentation, then they discussed on topical issues of Chernobyl (Pre-watching). In the stage of while-watching students were asked to complete the Mind-map tasks, to fill in a conceptual map of associations.
In general, the extracurricular event was successful and contributed to further familiarization of students with the problem of nuclear war, in particular the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. After watching the film and discussing questions from presentation, students actively asked questions and shared their opinions about similar disasters in the world.
