III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Chinese studies in Kazakhstan and abroad"

On February 17, 2023 the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Chinese Studies in Kazakhstan and Abroad", which has already become a tradition, was held at the KazUIR and WL named Abylai Khan. The event was organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies and Confucius Institute at KazUIR and WL named Abylai Khan.

Welcoming remarks to the participants of the conference were addressed by Salima Sagievna Kunanbaeva, Rector of KazUIR and WL named Abylai Khan, Doctor of Philology, Professor; Maira Ualievna Uspanova, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Doctor of Economics, Professor; Ms. Zhonghua, Deputy Consul General of China, Mr. Yuisen Halymzhan Mustahimuly, Deputy General Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies named R. B. Suleimenov, Professor. D.B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies, Doctor of Economics.

The moderator of this international scientific forum was Kagazbayeva Elmira Maratovna, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, candidate of political sciences, professor.

The plenary session of the conference was attended by foreign and domestic scientists. In particular, the reports were made by Mukhametkhanuly Nabizhan, director of "Centre of modern China research" at Karaganda National University, Ph, Professor; Xu Tao, PhD, researcher at the Institute for Eurasian Social Development and Development Research Centre under the State Council of the People's Republic of China; Nazarova Sayora Anvarovna, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Head of Chinese Philology Department at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (Uzbekistan), Akramjan Karimov, Professor at Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies; A.A. Trofimov, PhD in Law, St. Petersburg University (Russian Federation); Li Xinwei, researcher at the One Belt, One Road Higher Institute for Cultural Studies and Afghanistan Studies Centre, PhD from Shaanxi University of Education (China); Birimkulova Gulnara Userbayevna, PhD, Chair of Oriental Studies, Eurasian National University. Nuradin Aiypovich Kudaibergenov, Dean of the Faculty of International Law and Economics at the Abylai Khan KazUIR and WL, PhD, Associate Professor.

The total number of applications submitted for participation in the conference was 65. Scientific articles were submitted by scientists from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, L.N. Gumilev ENU, Ualikhanov Kokshetau University.

The geography of the conference participants was also extensive: Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Russia.

Participants of the conference came to conclusion that there are a lot of problems in development of Kazakhstan and foreign Chinese studies, but economic, cultural and most importantly scientific potential for its development. The event became a dialogue platform for a comprehensive and broad discussion of topical issues of Chinese studies development. Participants and attendees of the conference received a good impetus for further research work.

During the conference, on 18 February 2023, scientists from the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies Nazarova S.A. and Karimov A.A. held guest lectures for students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
