"The art of translation: Translators as bridges between cultures. International Translator's Day at the Faculty of Translation and Philology"

Every year on September 30, the world celebrates International Translator’s Day to recognize the importance of professionals who play a key role in promoting understanding between different cultures and languages. The Faculty of Translation and Philology of Kazakh Ablai khan University of International Relations and World Languages is no exception. On this day, students and teachers of the Faculty gathered together to celebrate this significant day and share their passion for world languages and cultures.

The slogan of this event this year was the phrase “Words travel the world. Translators do the driving”.

The event dedicated to the International Translator's Day at the Faculty of Translation and Philology is one of the most anticipated and inspiring events in the calendar. Every year, students, faculty members and invited guests gather to highlight the importance of translation and multilingualism in today's world

This year’s event began with a story about the history of appearance and development of the theory and practice of translation, its role and importance in the modern world, as well as a brief biography of great foreign and Kazakh translation scholars.

Students also prepared various videos and performances of an educational and humorous nature, telling about the work of a translator, the importance of education in the field of translation and unpleasant situations that can result from a translator’s error.

In addition, students presented various musical compositions and dance performances.

The head of the Department of Speech Practice of Foreign Languages, Kurkimbaeva Aizhan Muratovna, made a congratulatory speech, wishing the students success in their further studies and thanking them for their participation in this concert.
