Teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies took part in the international conference "Political Dialogue in the Spotlight of Global Transformation: Security Challenges and Partnership Prospects for the EAEU and Central Asia" (Astana c.).

On October 31, 2023, the international conference "Political Dialogue in the Spotlight of Global Transformation: Security Challenges and Partnership Prospects for the EAEU and Central Asia" was held in Astana.

The event was organized by the International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting "East-West" in cooperation with the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

The aim of the conference: expert discussion of the issues of strengthening regional security, foreign and domestic policy initiatives of Kazakhstan in this sphere, promotion of integration initiatives of the EAEU, as well as analysis of potential threats to the partnership of the Central Asian countries in the conditions of global geopolitical turbulence.

Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, candidate of political sciences, professor Kagazbayeva E.M. took part in the conference as a speaker and moderator of one of the sections at the invitation of Nugmanova K.Zh. - President of the International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting "East-West". Kagazbayeva E.M. made a report on the topic: "Soft Power" of China in Central Asia: cultural and humanitarian aspect". The conference was moderated by Dr. Political Science, Professor Nugmanova K.Zh. The welcoming speech was made by the Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kozhakhmet M.D., Director of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan Temirbolat B.B. The welcome speech of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kazakhstan Borodavkin A.N. was addressed to the participants of the event.  

The event was attended by leading foreign experts from Austria, Russian Federation, China, Georgia, India, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus. 

During the discussion, the expert community came to the conclusion that in the conditions of global transformation only constructive dialog and partnership cooperation based on consideration and respect for the interests of each participant in multilateral interstate interaction is the main formula for ensuring regional stability.  

Within the framework of the conference, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Abylai Khan KazUIR&WL JSC and the Public Foundation "International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting "East-West".
