The International Scientific and practical round table "Kazakhstan-China-Central Asia: current state and prospects" was held on March 28, 2024 which was organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Confucius Institute.
This event was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Department of translation of Oriental Languages. Domestic and foreign specialists in the field of philology, Translation Studies, Political Science and oriental studies, the teaching staff of the faculty, the first graduates of the Department attended the round table.
The Round Table was conducted by the dean of the faculty, candidate of political sciences, professor E. M. Kagazbayeva and the preface was given to the vice-rector for educational and methodological work of the University T.A.Kulgildinova.
After reading the congratulatory letter from the Chairman-Rector of the University, doctor of philology, professor, academician of the NAS RK S.S.Kunanbayeva, T.А. Kulgildinova presented Tolkyn Kalibekuly, who founded and became the first head of the Department of translation of Oriental languages, with а medal named after A. Baitursynov, awarded by the Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and also congratulated Bakytzhan Zeyadauly on his 60th anniversary and presented the Jubilee with a certificate of the title "Best Teacher" of the Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the program, the head of the department R. Dzheldybayeva reviewed the 20-year history of the department and noted the achievements of the department in educational, educational, methodological, research, public works, etc.
General Director of the R. B. Suleimenov Institute of Oriental Studies, doctor of philology, professor Duken Massimkhanuly made a welcoming speech and presented his works to the staff of the Department.
Former deans of the Faculty of Oriental Studies V. U.Makhpirov, D.S.Rayev, D.Dauen spoke about the history and achievements of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
The dean of the Faculty of translation and philology Mizamkhan Baglan, professor of the Department of Oriental philology N.S.Pak, head of the Department of Chinese Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University F.Orazakynkyzy congratulated and expressed warm wishes. Head of the Department of Oriental Studies of L. N. Gumilyov ENU G. Birimkulova also congratulated the staff of the department online.
The associate professor of the Department Zh.Tursynali made a report on the scientific achievements of candidate of philological Sciences, Professor B. Zeidauly at the round table. At the end of the event, the staff of the department and a group of students congratulated Zeidauly Bakhytzhan on his anniversary.
During this event, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Department of translation of Oriental Languages, a number of teachers were awarded a letter of thanks from the head-Chairman-Rector of the University, doctor of philology, professor, academician of NAS RK S.S.Kunanbayeva.
