In the period from 12 to 18 November 2024, the delegation of KazUIR&WL named after Ablai Khan, led by the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Elmira Kagazbayeva and the Head of the Department of History of Kazakhstan Venera Iztayeva, PhD in Social Sciences Botagoz Ali visited the leading universities of the Republic of Turkey - Istanbul University and Marmara University, where they met with the Dean of the Faculty of Literature of Istanbul University, Professor Sevtap Kadioglu and with the Director of the Farabi Eurasia Studies Application and Research Center of Istanbul University, Professor Abdullah Kizilcik, as well as with the Director of the Office of International Relations and Academic Cooperation of Marmara University, Professor Nuri Tinaz.
The meeting was coordinated by Professor Mehmet Arslan. These universities have a centuries-old history. Istanbul University was founded in 1453, Marmara University in 1883 and are highly ranked universities both in Turkey and in the world.
The agenda of the meetings included negotiations on signing a memorandum of cooperation between the universities. Expanding ties between our university and leading universities in Turkey will create new environment for academic mobility of academic staff, students, along with participation in joint research projects.
As part of the visit, our delegation took part in the scientific seminar of Marmara University named «History and modern directions of cooperation of Turkic-speaking states and the role of Kazakh-Turkish cooperation».
