On November 20, 2024, Almaty hosted the XVI Republican "Media Kuryltai" - a unique annual conference dedicated to the development of the Kazakhstan media market. The event was organized by the Kazakhstan Press Club. This year, the conference brought together leading representatives of the media industry, experts and opinion leaders to discuss current problems and find solutions in the media business.
The conference topic covered such key issues as systemic problems of the Kazakhstan media industry, changes in the Law on Mass Media, information security, the fight against fake news and the development of new media tools. The event was attended by representatives of state and private media, specialists in the field of PR and media communications, who shared their experiences and discussed best practices.
Students and faculty of the Department of International Communications of KazIR&WL univeristy also took an active part in the discussions and master classes. For them, "Media Kuryltai" became a great opportunity to learn about modern trends in the media environment, meet leading experts and expand their professional horizons. This format of the event promotes not only the exchange of experience, but also the establishment of strong ties between future and current professionals in the media sphere of Kazakhstan.
