Almaty, Kazakhstan, November 28, 2024. On the eve of the opening of the 6th Korean Studies Week at Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages (KazUIRWL), Yongnam Ro, President of LG Electronics in Russia and the CIS, delivered an enlightening lecture to students.
“We discussed the importance of management and social projects, the history of our countries’ development, and communication. As an author, I am deeply impressed by the extensive academic work at the university, the organization of conferences and competitions, and the development of textbooks. Thanks to the remarkable efforts of the Korea Foundation and the Korean Studies Center, we see how today’s conference at KazUIRWL has brought together students, faculty, and officials. Respect for the language and culture of our countries and the desire to build strong economic, scientific, and socio-cultural ties are the solid foundation of our work,” said Mr. Ro.
In his lecture, Mr. Ro highlighted Korea’s history, the socio-cultural and economic ties between Korea and Central Asia dating back to the Silk Road era, and the prospects of the new “K-Silk Road” initiative, which encompasses several key areas of cooperation. He also shared insights into the life of Koreans in Central Asia, his professional experience across numerous countries, including Kazakhstan, and his visits to all the nations in the region.
During the lecture, the audience learned about future technologies, “empathetic” caring intelligence, and LG’s AI Home innovations, including the AeroCat smart air purifier with a built-in pet bed, a home robot, as well as LG’s smart vehicle and the Bon Voyage camping trailer. The trailer is designed as a ready-to-use mobile living space for travel and outdoor leisure, presented at the international IFA 2024 exhibition.
In an interactive dialogue format, students and the lecturer discussed LG’s 3F (Fit, Feel, Finish) design philosophy, which underpins the company’s products. This approach combines aesthetics and functionality, focusing on practicality, continuous improvement of every detail, user-friendly device functions, and comprehensive research.
