On November 16, 2020, Kazakh Ablaikhan University of International Relations and World Languages in cooperation with the Kazakhstan Association of Translators started a series of online masterclasses on Translation issues dedicated to the 80 anniversary of the university. The guest speaker is Russell Duffin, Head of the Translation Department, International Labor Organization, UNO (Geneva, Switzerland). On the first day of the master class, about 70 translation teachers, MA as well as Ph.D. students took part. Mr. Duffinn and the participants shared their views on problems of working in difficult situations as a pandemic Covid-19 and how it will affect the translators. The next class will be devoted to written translation issues. The Masterclass will be held once a week, on Monday, and will continue for several weeks.
