Debate, timed to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the topic "Legalization of euthanasia in the Republic of Kazakhstan: pros and cons"

"The essence of a person is love, justice and soulfulness. People cannot do without these principles. It's just that there is no case in life when they did not participate and did not predetermine this or that human destiny" (Abai).

The Department of International Law pays great attention to the moral education of students. In this regard, undergraduates of the 2nd year of the EP "International Law" within the framework of scientific and pedagogical practice conducted an extracurricular lesson in the form of debates with students of the 3rd year of the specialty "International Law" on the topic "Legalization of euthanasia in the Republic of Kazakhstan: pros and cons".

Two teams took part in the debate: "Rainbow Gingerbread" (in favor of) and "White Crows" (against). Chairman of the jury: Head of the Department of International Law Bayzhomartova Karlygash Asylzhomartovna. Members of the jury: Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Bulekbaeva Raziya Udarbaevna, Master of Law Moldakhmetova Zhanar Espaevna.

The participants in the debate were informed in advance of a topic on which they could carefully prepare. During the discussion, each participant carefully selected arguments in defense of their position. During the discussion, the guys showed themselves most actively, which was noted by the jury. The debate resulted in a unanimous decision in favor of the team opposing the legalization of euthanasia. The teams were awarded with I and II degree diplomas.

The benefits of such events are obvious: the cultural and intellectual level of students rises, there is an opportunity to defend their point of view. This is especially important for law students. But most importantly, there is live communication, during which the participants exchange an active position.
