"Generation Zertteu"

    On January 14, 2022, the second round and the Awarding ceremony of the winners of the Republican contest among young journalists aged 21-29 for the best research project "Generation Zertteu" took place in Almaty.

             

          20 project participants selected during the first round presented presentations of their journalistic projects. An independent jury consisting of Armanzhan Baitasov, Sagymbai Kozybayev, Nurzhan Mukhamedzhanova, Yerzhan Suleimenov, Rustam Maksutov, Zhainagul Tolemisova and Ulbike Shinalieva selected 4 winners of the project. They are:

    1. Kapan Marzhan, 4th year student of the specialty "Public Relations" KazUIR&WL, information and analytical portal "Platon Asia" with a podcast series project;
    2. Kirill Kargapolov, 2nd year master's student of the specialty "Journalism" KazUIR&WL, editor-in-chief of "The Village" with a draft report on labor slavery.

          The winners of the project were awarded certificates for journalistic research in the amount of 500 thousand tenge.

         4th year students of the specialty "Public Relations" Koshkarbai Asylzhan, Rakhimzhanova Meruert, Batargalieva Assel were awarded certificates for participation.

         The competition was held in order to promote the development of research journalism in Kazakhstan by increasing the potential of young journalists and identifying significant journalistic research and analytical projects on topical issues of modern Kazakhstan. The winners of the project will conduct a journalistic study and publish its results by February 28, 2022.

        The project is being implemented by the NGO "Almaty Nomad Travelers Club" with the support of the NGO "Center for Support of Civil Initiatives", the Armanzhan Baitasov Media School and by order of the CF "Media Damytu Kory".
