On October 11, 2023, the Department of Kazakh Philology and the Center for the Development of the State Language of the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages organized an interfaculty competition among 1st year students of the Russian department “Мен жастарға сенемін!” dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of M. Zhumabaev and for the holiday “Languages of the Peoples of Kazakhstan”. The goal is to promote the life and work of poets in connection with the 130th anniversary of the birth of M. Zhumabayev, to teach how to recite expressively, to respect the poet-writer Magzhan, the leader of the Alash movement, who became the pride of the Kazakh country, to teach patriotism and beauty using the example of his works.
During the competition the jury was presented. The head of the department of Kazakh philology of KazUIR&WL, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Akkozhina Bayan Kanatkina opened the opening speech. The head of the department of ideology and social development, G.S. Egenbaeva continued with a congratulatory speech.
The competition took place in 3 stages. At the 1st stage, students participated in a poetry reading competition by the poet M. Zhumabaev. According to the requirements of the 2nd stage, the participants published a wall newspaper covering the life and activities of M. Zhumabaev. At stage 3, a video about Magzhan and his work was prepared and defended. The videos are based on the topic and the idea is expressed in terms of content. Its integrity and uniqueness are clearly depicted. The jury conducted an expert assessment of the submitted videos and determined the winners. The winners were awarded the main prize, 1st, 2nd, 3rd places, certificates of honor, letters of gratitude and gifts.
