27.11.2023 at Ablai khan KazUIR and WL hosted a guest lecture by the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, Pak Naechon, on the topic “History of Korea, modern development and relations between South and North Korea.” The lecture was given within the framework of the 5th Week of Korean Studies at Ablai khan KazUIR and WL.
The Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, Pak Naechon, briefly spoke about the significant historical events that took place in Korea before its division, and dwelled on the stage of development of the Republic of Korea in the modern period, when in just over 30 years Korea became one of the developed countries in Asia, which began to be called “ Miracle on the Han River." The lecturer also told students about the current international relations between Kazakhstan and Korea and the prospects for their further development. Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty Pak Naechon also spoke about the history and modern relations of the two Koreas.
The lecture of the distinguished guest aroused great interest among students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. After the lecture, the students asked Mr. Consul General questions, which he answered with pleasure.
The lecture by the Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, Pak Naechon, became the first guest lecture within the framework of the 5th Week of Korean Studies at Ablai khan KazUIR and WL. A number of lectures by Korean studies professors from other universities are planned ahead, as well as lectures by employers and partners of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
