The International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “Farabi Alemi” was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on April 4-6, 2024. The conference was organized in honor of the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
On April 2, the Interuniversity student discussion club on current topics in the field of PR technologies started, which will continue until April 16. The exchange of ideas among university students in Almaty is the goal of this project, initiated by the famous journalist, PR specialist B.Sh. Aldongarova.
On March 28, 2024, the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages signed a Memorandum of cooperation with the Representative Office of the Republican Public Association «Assembly Zhastary».
The International Scientific and practical round table "Kazakhstan-China-Central Asia: current state and prospects" was held on March 28, 2024 which was organized by the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the Confucius Institute.
This event was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Department of translation of Oriental Languages. Domestic and foreign specialists in the field of philology, Translation Studies, Political Science and oriental studies, the teaching staff of the faculty, the first graduates of the Department attended the round table.
On February 12, 2024, the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Evren Muderrisoglu and the Education Attache of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Korkmaz Ayhan met with the administration of the Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL, teaching staff and students studying Turkish at the Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL.
From December 11 to 13, the delegation of Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL, represented by Vice-Rector for youth policy T.V. Seryozhkina and the manager of the Confucius Center took part in the Asia-European International Forum on Teacher Education 2023, organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the Northwestern Normal University (Lanzhou).
From December 6 to December 12, 2023, a delegation consisting of Vice-Rector for International Relations Zh.T. Zhyltyrova, Head of the International Cooperation Department T.E. Abdіgappar, Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies E.M. Kagazbaeva and Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute Shi Longwei successfully conducted a working visit to China!
On October 26, 2023, the “Dilmar Club” of the Department Eastern Philology of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Ablai khan KazUIR and WL organized a guest lecture on the topic “Türk Kültüründe Kadın İmgesi” on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic.
On October 13, 2023, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, the “Dilmar” club of the Department of Eastern Philology, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Ablai khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, organized a guest lecture by doctor, professor, director of the Institute of Social Sciences, Mr. Mustafa Demirci from Selcuk University Republic of Turkey on the theme “Türk Dünyasında Yeni Bir Rönesansın İmkanları”.
11.10.2023 Center for Korean Studies Ablai khan KazUIR and WL, with the support of the Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan, held a Korean Cuisine Day, within the framework of which a competition was organized for the preparation of Korean dishes popular among young people: kimbap and tteokbokki. About 65 3rd and 4th year students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies studying Korean took part in the competition.
On October 10, 2023, the Department of International Law, in order to implement the state socially significant project of the Akimat of the city of Almaty on the topic: “Carrying out a set of activities to resolve disputes and popularize the institution of mediation”, together with the Public Foundation “Center “Social project management”, held a guest lecture. Lecturer A trainer-mediator of international class is a head of the RPO “International Human Rights Center”, General Director of the ALE “Association of Mediators of Kazakhstan” Zhakupov Zhangeldy Azhigalievich.
On September 22, Daejin University hosted an international quiz among foreign students (통일 골든벨), in which 4th-year students of the Department of Translation of Eastern Languages, Faculty of Oriental Studies, took part. About 20 students from China, Russia, Kazakhstan and Vietnam took part in this quiz.
On 14 September 2023 in KazUIR&WL named after Abylai Khan successfully held a meeting with the delegation of Waseda University (Japan) headed by Professor Atsushi Ogihara. The delegation of 8 people included students, masters and teachers from Waseda University (Japan). From the side of KazUIR&WL named after Abylai Khan in the meeting were attended by Vice-Rector for International Relations - Zhyltyrova J.T., Head of the Department of International Cooperation - Әbdіgаppar T.E., Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Kagazbaeva E.M., teachers of Japanese studies and students of all courses studying Japanese language on educational programmes "Foreign Philology" and "Oriental Studies".
Professor of KazUIR and WL named Abylai Khan, candidate of philological sciences, head of the Department of Translation of Oriental Languages of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Dzheldibaeva Raushan Bazikenovna and Professor Shi Lunwei from the Confucius Centre at KazUIR and WL took part in the opening ceremony of the EXPO "China-Eurasia 2023 - International Education Forum" on September 15, 2023 in Urumqi (Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China).
On August 29-30, the 5th Eurasian Youth Academy of the Republic of Korea visited the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Ablai khan. The delegation that visited the university included 25 students from 21 universities of the Republic of Korea who passed a rigorous selection for participation in this program, including students from the Hanguk University of Foreign Studies, Busan University, Kyunghee University, Kemyeong, Sungkyungwan, Kukmin, Seoul Technological University , Moscow State University, as well as representatives of the Secretariat of the Cooperation Forum "Central Asia - the Republic of Korea", the Hyundai Research Institute, the International Korea Foundation. The delegation from the Republic of Korea was warmly welcomed by the employees of the Center for Korean Studies, students of the Korean Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
August 25-26, 2023 Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Ablai Khan was visited by a delegation of the Eurasian Expedition in Busan (Republic of Korea). This visit is part of a large program to promote the city of Busan as a candidate for EXPO-2030. The city of Almaty is the first city of Central Asia on the way to European countries for the expedition.
From August 4 to August 17, 2023, a teacher at the Department of Translation of Oriental Languages and the Confucius Institute at the Ablai khan KazUIRandWL Sabigazin Saule successfully completed a summer internship at Xinjiang University. This event was attended by Chinese language teachers from Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Russia.
