The Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, together with the Confucius Institute and the Department of Oriental Languages Translation of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, is holding a competition called "Reading Abai's Works and Poems in Kazakh, Russian, and Chinese languages" among students studying Chinese at universities in Almaty, as well as among students from China who are studying Kazakh and Russian as part of an exchange program.
The objectives of this competition are to spread the creative legacy of the great poet and educator Abai Kunanbayev, to form the national spirit, cultural values and moral qualities among young people. The awakening of respect for the native language and love for the art of speech. As well as the popularization of Abai's profound and meaningful works and poetry among international students.
The competition consists of two stages:
- Stage I: Reading Abai's words of wisdom on the theme of knowledge and science in Kazakh, Russian, and Chinese languages (duration – no more than 3 minutes).
- Stage II: Expressive recitation of any poem by Abai in Kazakh, Russian, and Chinese languages (duration – up to 3 minutes).
Date of the competition: November 27, 2025, at 14:00.
Place of the competition: Main building of The Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, Red Hall.
Application deadline: Until November 20, 2025.
