University visa support for international students is a comprehensive set of services provided by the university to help foreign nationals obtain and maintain legal status in the country of study.
The International department of Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL carries out the following activities:
- Issuance of invitations and visa documents
The University prepares official invitations (LOI or Letter of Invitation), which are required to apply for a student visa at your country's consulate/embassy.
- Consultations on visa regimes and requirements
Consultations are provided regarding required documents for obtaining a visa, processing timelines, as well as applicable rules and regulations in the country of study.
- Assistance with registration and migration procedures
Upon arrival, the university assists students with migration registration, registers them at their place of residence, and ensures compliance with local requirements (for example, timely extension of registration).
- Support in visa or temporary residence permit extension
If a student’s visa expires before the completion of studies, the university supports the process of extending the visa or obtaining a temporary residence permit (if applicable).
- Assistance in emergency situations
This may include help in case of lost documents, urgent visa extension, consultations regarding changes in migration regulations, etc.
- Informational support on legislation concerning the stay of foreign citizens and student responsibilities
Orientation meetings and briefings are conducted on visa, migration, and adaptation issues. Assistance is also provided with other administrative procedures (for example, health insurance, opening bank accounts, and obtaining an IIN/identification number).
