On August 29, 2025, the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan was held at KazUMOiWL named after Ablai Khan.
The purp’se of the conference was to conduct a deep legal and scientific analysis of the development of the constitutional system of Kazakhstan over the past three decades, assess the results achieved and identify future challenges.
Conference objectives:
- Discussion of the role of the Constitution in strengthening the rule of law;
- Analysis of key reforms and changes in constitutional legislation;
- Exchange of experience with foreign legal scholars and experts;
- Development of proposals for further improvement of the constitutional legal order;
- Strengthening human rights mechanisms in accordance with international standards.
The conference was attended by representatives of ethnocultural associations and structural divisions of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Almaty; lawyers, legal scholars, researchers; representatives of academic institutes and research centers; experts in the field of constitutional and international law.
Foreign legal experts and representatives of international organizations (USA, Italy, Greece, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belarus, Russia, the Kyrgyz Republic, Uzbekistan, etc.) also took part in the online format.
Organizers of the event: Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, “International Human Rights Center”, Almaty Council of Young Scientists of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
Welcoming remarks were made by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of Kazakh Ablai Khan University Maira Uspanova, the current Chairman of the Council of Ethnomediation of Almaty Zhandilda Zhakupov, the deputy Chairman of the APK of Almaty Vsevolod Lukashev and others. The teaching staff of Ablai Khan University, including Professor of the Department of International Relations, Candidate of Sciences Meirat Omarov, as well as Professors of the Department of International Law – Doctor of Sciences, Eduard Mukhamedzhanov and Candidate of Sciences, Nurbol Dzhetibayev also made presentations. The moderator of the conference was the senior lecturer of the Department of International Relations of Ablai Khan University, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the APK of Almaty Murad Shamilov.
