On October 8, 2025, the Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL hosted a seminar on «Financial Security in the Digital Space», organized in collaboration with the Anti-Fraud Center of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
On behalf of the Rector, Salima Sagievna Kunanbayeva, the Vice-Rector for Student affairs, Tatyana Vladimirovna Seryozhkina, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of digital security among young people and enhancing students’ financial literacy in the context of rapid technological development.
Dmitry Igorevich Akmaev, representative of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, presented about the structure of the national banking and financial systems as well as the principles of operation of card and payment services.
Evelina Astafyeva and Zhandos Zhagalov, representatives of «Bereke Bank» JSC, presented an educational initiative aimed at preventing «dropper» activity and protecting against cyber and financial fraud. Speakers explained the mechanisms of common fraudulent schemes, methods for detecting suspicious activity, and measures to ensure digital security when working with banking products.
Aibatyr Pazil, operative officer of the Almaty City Police Department, shared practical recommendations for preventing cyber fraud, explained where to seek assistance in case of suspicious transactions, and advised on how to respond to criminal schemes in the digital environment.
During the seminar, students actively participated in the discussion, shared their personal experiences related to cyber fraud, and asked the speakers thought-provoking questions. The interactive dialogue provided participants with valuable insights and practical advice on ensuring personal financial and digital security.
