From March 16 to 20, 2026, Ablaikhan University successfully hosted a Spring School on International Law for 11th-grade pupils from Almaty. The program was designed to introduce participants to the profession of an international lawyer through practice-oriented formats, interactive activities, and simulations of real-life legal situations.

Over the course of five days, participants not only deepened their knowledge of international law but also applied it in practice by working on real case studies, engaging in mock trials, and participating in simulations of international negotiations and legal scenarios. Particular emphasis was placed on developing key competencies of future legal professionals, including analytical thinking, argumentation, public speaking, teamwork, and proficiency in legal English.
The program was structured to highlight different aspects of the legal profession each day. On the first day, participants gained a general understanding of the role of an international lawyer, explored its relevance in the context of global challenges, and took part in negotiation simulations. On the second day, students participated in a Moot Court session, assuming the roles of judges, lawyers, and parties to the case, thereby enhancing their legal reasoning, argumentation, and public speaking skills.

The third day focused on teamwork and solving complex legal problems through an interactive quest format, allowing participants to apply their knowledge in practice-oriented scenarios. On the fourth day, students took part in a detective-style investigation conducted in English, which helped develop their logical thinking, evidence analysis, and professional communication skills. The final day featured a криминалистический quest, aimed at reinforcing skills in evidence handling, building legal arguments, and decision-making under uncertainty.
At the conclusion of the Spring School, all participants were awarded certificates, along with commemorative gifts bearing the university’s logo. The most active and outstanding students received diplomas of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree, which grant tuition discounts upon admission to the university.

The Spring School became an important milestone in the professional orientation of the participants. It provided them with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in real international legal practice, assess their interests and abilities in the field of law, and acquire valuable skills essential for their future academic and professional paths.
Thus, the Spring School served not only as an educational platform but also as a meaningful guide in choosing a future career, inspiring students to pursue further studies in law.
