8th Korean Studies Conference on “Korean Language & Culture Education in Central Asia”

    On December 12, 2020, 8th Korean Studies Conference on “Korean Language & Culture Education in Central Asia” was held, organized by AKSPCA (Association of Korean Studies Professors in Central Asia), the Center for Korean Studies at Nazarbayev University and the Center for Korean Studies of Abylaikhan Khan KazUIR & WL, with the support of the KF (Korean Foundation). The conference was held in an online format. The conference was attended by professors and teachers from 20 universities and other educational institutions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, South Korea. The conference participants made reports on the current state and prospects of distance and online learning in universities in Central Asia.

    During the discussion, the sides discussed ways to solve the existing problems associated with distance and online learning of the Korean language and other Korean studies disciplines, proposed projects for cooperation of Korean studies in Central Asia in the current situation, taking into account regional characteristics. Teachers of the Korean branch of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Abylaikhan KazUIR & WL took an active part in the work of the 8th Korean Studies Conference on “Korean Language & Culture Education in Central Asia” and in the final discussion.
