Academic integrity at Ablaikhan University is based on the shared responsibility of students and faculty, objective assessment, independent completion of academic work, and respect for intellectual contributions.
For students
Students have the right to clear assessment criteria, objective evaluation, equal academic requirements, and transparent procedures for reviewing cases of academic misconduct.
Students are expected to complete assignments independently, use and cite sources appropriately, comply with assessment and examination rules, and refrain from plagiarism, cheating, falsification, and other forms of academic misconduct.
For faculty
Faculty members ensure that academic requirements and assessment criteria are clear and transparent, create conditions that encourage students to work independently, take measures to prevent academic misconduct, and clearly define in advance the permitted use of digital tools and artificial intelligence.
Artificial intelligence and academic integrity
The use of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence tools is permitted in accordance with the requirements of a specific assignment and the guidelines established by the instructor.
AI may be used as a supporting tool but should not replace a student’s independent work. Where required, students must disclose the use of AI and indicate the purpose for which it was used.
Using AI to complete work on behalf of a student, circumvent assignment requirements, cheat during examinations, or submit unverified or inaccurate information is not permitted.
Students remain fully responsible for the content and accuracy of their final work.
