From February 10 to 22, 2020, 2nd year undergraduates of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University; from February 17 to February 26, 2020 2nd year undergraduates of Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau State University specialty "6M011900 - Foreign language: two foreign languages" undergo scientific training at the leading university of Kazakhstan - Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. Between the universities –partners there is an agreement on social partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation. Currently, cooperation between universities is reaching a fundamentally new level.

During 3-14 February, 2nd year students of the specialty of  ​​«Foreign Languages : Two foreign Languages» of Pedagogical Faculty of Foreign Languages were doing Professional- Pedagogical Practicum at schools of Almaty. At that time, students arranged extra-curricular activities to organize the educational process. As the activities were organized using modern methods of Foreign Language Education and Informational Technologies, students motivated learners' interest in the English language. Students conducted extra-curricular classes on topics such as “Sport in our life”, “Bremen town musicians”, “Merry school”, “Enjoy English”, “Exploring Space”, “Funny English” etc., taking into account learners’ age categories and individual characteristics. During the practicum, our students have strengthened their skills and have increased their interest in future profession.

On the 21^st of January there was a « University Sport Festival » among all faculties of the University. The team of  the Teachers of  Pedagogical Faculty have participated in sport festival and won the 3^rd place in it. Ivanchenko U. V., the teacher of the chair “Theory and Practice in Intercultural Communication” of  the “Pedagogical Faculty of Foreign Languages” won the second place in table tennis.

On February 11, 2020 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ablai Khan KazUIR&WL was held successfully meeting with the head of the representative office of the MYUFG Bank in Almaty, Mr. Yoshihiro Utsumi. Mr. Yoshihiro Utsumi is respected guest at our faculty and that meeting with students was not the first time. This time, the format of the meeting “Speech - Question” was prepared. Students prepared small presentations and questions in Japanese. Problems were raised on a variety of topics, from the characteristics of business etiquette in Japanese companies to the differences in the mentality of Japanese and Kazakhstani people. Students were especially interested in job opportunities in Japan. Mr. Yoshihiro Utsumi kindly told about the selection criteria for foreign specialists and patiently answered a wide variety of questions. We hope that such meetings are served as a good motivation for students to deepen their knowledge of the Japanese language and culture.

On February 6, 2020, students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Ablai Khan KazUIR&WL made a report at the plenary meeting of the VII Republican scientific and practical conference of young scientists and specialists “Industry 4.0: dialogue of generations and new guidelines for young scientists” dedicated to the 175th birthday of the great son of the Kazakh people Abay Kunanbayuly. 3rd-year student Amina Karaulova made a presentation on “Явление Аум Синреке – деструктивная секта в реалиях жапонского общества”, and 2nd-year student Pishchalin Vladislav made a presentation on the topic “Глобализация как фактор, влияющий на развитие национальной культуры на примерах Жапония мен Казахстана”. We congratulate our students on their successful work and wish them further creative success!

On February 03, 2020, at pedagogical faculty of foreign languages was held Quiz Battle among 4th year students. Quiz Battle is an intellectual game aimed at increasing the feeling of patriotism, instilling interest in the culture of the country and foreign countries and increasing motivation among students. The game consisted of 3 parts: Kazakhstan, Our World and Culture. The game was attended by 5 teams, consisting of 5-6 people.

On February 6 at KazUIR&WL hosted the VII Republican scientific and practical conference for young scientists and specialists "Industry 4.0: Dialogue of Generations and New Guidelines for Young Scientists" dedicated to the 175th birthday the great son of the Kazakh people Abay Kunanbayuly.

Harry Potter a popular series of books by the famous British writer J.K. Rowling, translated into 80 worldlanguages, was now first translated into Kazakh under the title "Хәрри Поттер мен пәлсапа тас" by Steppe & World publishing house. Two of the three translators who translated this book are Sayat Mukhamediyar and Narkez Berikkazy. They are graduates of the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, Faculty of Translation and Philology. Narkez Berіkkazy studied as a simultaneous interpreter. Sayat Mukhamediyar, a graduate of the bachelor's degree in translation studies, has studied masters program under the Bolashak program. He currently teaches at the Department of Translation and Intercultural Communication. Today the first book of the series has been released, the second book is still in the process of translation. It is planned that next year the remaining 5 books of this series will be published. Good luck to our colleagues!

On January 27, 2020, the Dostyk House hosted an event dedicated To the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. It was organized by the "Mitsva" Association, the Eurasian Jewish Congress, and the UN Information Office. Where were invited teachers (Issaliyeva A.M., Abdrazakova L.) and students of the Faculty of International Relations.

On January 22, 2020, International Relations Faculty students Zhanyssova Kamila and Nygmetova Balzhan majoring in "5B050500-Regional Studies" were the founders of the UN Model Club at Kazakh Ablai khan UIR&WL, were invited as Chairs of the New Silk Way Mini Model United Nations. This event was held at American Space in Almaty, where students of foreign Universities also participated. Our students were awarded the highest praise of the organizers by commemorative certificates for their chairmanship.
