On March 31, 2023, 2nd year students of "Translation Studies" speciality, the Faculty of Translation and Philology, visited the Central State Museum of the History of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A trip to the history museum is a great way to get acquainted with the history and culture of the country. For students, this can be not only an exciting journey, but also an important experience in the field of culture and education.

The Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is one of the oldest and largest museums not only in Kazakhstan, but throughout Central Asia. Students have visited 4 excursion halls: the Hall of Paleontology and Archeology, Historical Ethnography Hall, “History and Ethnography of the People Living in Kazakhstan” and “Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War. 1941-1945" Hall and "Modern Kazakhstan" Hall.

An excursion in the first hall was conducted by a professional guide, who was able to immerse the listeners in the times of the origin of life on the Earth, the emergence of prehistoric animals and plants, the appearance of the first traces of human life, the formation of tribal unions and states.

The students studied the fragments of petrified trees, imprints of insects, fish and plants on the slate with a great pleasure. Most of these exhibits are millions years old.

It was also interesting for students to study the national clothes and household items of various nationalities inhabiting the Republic of Kazakhstan. The spacesuit of the first Kazakh astronaut, Toktar Aubakirov, attracted special attention of the students.

Tulegenova Snezhanna: I really liked the excursion to the State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was an amazing experience, the opportunity to see the history of mankind for several millennia with my own eyes.
Osmanov Vasip: From our today’s trip to the Museum, I remember that there were presented ancient tools, the metal from which they were made, as well as a demonstration of how ancient people switched from stone tools to iron ones. I was particularly interested in the old smelters, as well as the architecture of those times. And most of all I remember the story of how Amir Timur built one of the most beautiful buildings of that time - the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassaui.
Serikova Tomiris: I really liked the hall where Kazakh culture was presented. There were a lot of interesting and beautiful moments that I will remember all my life. I recommend everyone to visit this museum at least once in the life.
