By decision of the Academic Council No. 9-3-1 of the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages dated April 23, 2024, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of the Southwestern University of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Shi Longwei, was awarded the title of “Honorary Professor of the
Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.”
On May 17, 2024, in a solemn ceremony, the Diploma of “Honorary Professor of KAUIR&WL named after Abylay Khan” was awarded to Mr. Shi Longwei by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities, Ualivna Mayra Uspanova.


Professor Shi Longwei is the director of the Society for Comparative Education of the Chinese Society of Education, a member of the editorial board of the international Chinese academic journal "Education Progress" from Scientific Research Publishing, and an expert in examining master's and doctoral dissertations at the Diploma Center of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Author of more than 100 scientific papers in the field of comparative education and psychology, national research in the field of education, and modern Western educational trends. Co-author and editor of textbooks on comparative education. He has received state awards of the People's Republic of China for achievements in the field of scientific research.
During his collaboration with Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, Professor Shi Longwei made a significant contribution to the development of higher education in the areas of “Language and Literature” and “Humanities”, training in which is carried out at the university. He has extensive connections with various educational and public organizations of the People's Republic of China, and contributes to the active development of international cooperation between KAUIR&WL and universities in China. With his direct participation, negotiations were conducted (online and offline) with Southwestern University (PRC, Chongqing) and KAUIR&WL on the opening of a joint two-degree education program in the educational program “Chinese Language and Literature.” The professor also contributed to the signing of agreements with such leading Chinese universities as Minzu University, Xinjiang University, and Southwestern University. With his direct participation, the program of academic mobility of students in the Chinese direction is actively working.
Since September 2021, he has been working at the Confucius Institute at KAUIR&WL; is a professor at the Department of Translation of Oriental Languages at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, teaches special disciplines to 3rd and 4th year students; initiator of the international project “Development of Chinese and Kazakh business discourse in the socio-cognitive and pragmatic aspects” (2024-2025); conducts consultations and open lectures for undergraduates of the educational programs “Translation Studies” and “Foreign Philology”. Professor Shi Longwei actively participates in the preparation and conduct of scientific and student events at the regional and republican levels.
