On April 23, 2025, the university hosted a meeting with representatives of the international hotel chain Marriott International. The event was attended by Alexander Sell, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty, along with the HR Directors of four Marriott hotels: The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty; The Ritz-Carlton, Astana; Sheraton Astana; and The St. Regis Astana.
The meeting was organized for students majoring in educational programs 6B11101 – Tourism and 6B11102 – Restaurant and Hotel Business. Marriott representatives spoke about the operations of their hotels in Kazakhstan’s two major cities, shared their experience in hotel management, and presented opportunities for students to undergo internships, participate in the Voyage Global Leadership Development Program, and explore future employment prospects.
Special attention was given to the development of cooperation between KazUIRandWL and Marriott hotels in the framework of educational program implementation, professional training, and recruitment of qualified personnel for the hospitality industry.
The guests -HR directors of the participating Marriott hotels - provided comprehensive answers to students’ questions, offered professional advice, and explained the requirements for employment in international hotels.
