On November 21, 2025, as part of the II Film Festival “Lifestyle – Expedition,” the documentary film The Multifaceted Altai was screened in the AlmaU atrium. The film was personally presented by its author — journalist, documentarian, philosopher, researcher, and associate professor at KazIR&WL university, Madina Ashilova.

The film is dedicated to the uniqueness of the Altai region and reveals the multilayered nature of life there, from natural landscapes to the cultural practices of local residents. Viewers noted the depth of the research and the author’s warm and respectful attitude toward the film’s subjects. Many students admitted that the human stories portrayed in the film were the main emotional highlight for them.

After the screening, the audience actively participated in a discussion. Topics raised included the creative process, the selection of subjects, the specifics of working in field expeditions, and the role of documentary cinema in preserving cultural memory.
The event was particularly valuable for journalism students, who had the opportunity to take part in organizing the screening and gain practical experience working at a real media event. For young professionals, it was a chance to see the profession “in action,” ask their questions, and interact directly with a recognized documentary filmmaker and experienced journalists.

At the end, the organizers held a small contest: the most interesting questions asked during the press conference were rewarded with prizes.
