On January 5 and 12, 2026, “Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages” JSC held an orientation conference on teaching practice for students enrolled in teacher training programs.

During the event, the goals and objectives of teaching practice, the specifics of organizing students’ educational and mentoring activities, as well as the issues of assigning students to secondary schools for their teaching practice were discussed.
The conference was opened by the Head of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching Methodology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Galiya Zhumabekova, who emphasized the importance of teaching practice in developing the professional competencies of future teachers.
Welcoming remarks were delivered by the Head of the Academic Affairs Office, Aitkenzhe Mergembayeva, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Language Education, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Islam Aibarsha, and the Head of the Center for Practice and Employment, Moldir Kiikbay. In their speeches, the university administration highlighted the importance of this stage as an opportunity to become familiar with real professional conditions, apply theoretical knowledge in an educational environment, and develop professional and communicative skills.

The event was accompanied by methodological guidelines and explanations of organizational issues. Special attention was paid to the role of teaching practice in shaping the professional identity of future teachers, as well as to the importance of initiative, responsibility, and a creative approach in completing practical tasks.
Within the framework of the conference, reports were presented on current issues related to the organization and content of teaching practice: Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Marina Savankova spoke about the goals and objectives of teaching practice, while Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Kulaysha Zhansugurova presented the goals and objectives of students’ educational activities during the teaching practice period.

The second part of the conference featured workshops involving employers, aimed at enhancing the practical training of future teachers. The workshops addressed the role of a class teacher, the use of active teaching methods in foreign language instruction, formative and summative assessment, organization of extracurricular activities, and the use of digital tools and the Kundelik.kz platform.
The conference concluded with inspiring remarks from the teaching staff and warm wishes for a productive and successful teaching practice. The event contributed to increasing students’ readiness for professional activity and their further professional development.
