On April 20, 2026, an educational event in the form of an intellectual game on the topic “The Role of the English Language in the Era of Modernization” was held at the Department of Theory and Practice of Speech of Foreign Philology with the participation of first-year students and guests — cadets of the Almaty Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Makan Yesbulatov.
The purpose of the event was to increase students’ interest in learning English, develop their communicative skills, broaden their country studies knowledge, and promote understanding of the role of the English language in the professional activities of future law enforcement specialists.

During the event, the participants were divided into teams and took part in the intellectual game “Who Wants to Be a Future Officer?”, which included questions on the English language, country studies, modern technologies, and professional terminology. Special attention was paid to the importance of English in the context of social modernization and its role in the international cooperation of law enforcement officers.
The final stage of the event was a group activity in which participants created a mind map on the topic “Why Do Future Police Officers Need English?” During this activity, they discussed the importance of English for international communication, career growth, working with modern technologies, and professional development.
The event was held in an active and friendly atmosphere. The cadets demonstrated a high level of interest, erudition, and teamwork. The event contributed to strengthening academic cooperation between educational institutions and emphasized the importance of English language proficiency in the training of modern law enforcement officers.
