On April 24, 2026, a Republican Subject Olympiad in “Oriental Studies” (specialization: Turkish language) was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized by the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries, Faculty of Oriental Studies.
The Olympiad consisted of two stages. The first round included a lexical and grammatical test as well as country studies questions. The results were assessed on a 100-point scale, and the top 10 participants advanced to the next round.
In the second round, participants presented individual projects on the topic “Türkçeden Tarihe: Türkiye’nin Kültürel Yolculuğu” (“From Turkish Language to History: The Cultural Journey of Turkey”). The contestants prepared presentations using innovative technologies, defended them in Turkish, and answered questions related to the culture, history, and politics of Turkey and Kazakhstan.
According to the results of the Olympiad, students of the Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages achieved excellent results and won prize places:

🥉 3rd place — Jabykbay Aknur
