As part of the celebration of the International Day of Families, annually observed on May 15, the university organized curatorial hours from May 15 to May 19 on the topic: “The Value of Family in Modern Kazakhstani Society and the World.”
The events were held in both online and offline formats and involved 1st–3rd year students from all faculties. The meetings aimed to strengthen family values, promote the spiritual and moral development of young people, and increase the significance of the family institution in modern society.
During the curatorial hours, curators and students discussed three important issues: why family remains the main value for a person, how the digital world affects relationships between people, and how modern youth envision the future of family. Special attention was given to intergenerational understanding, preserving family traditions, and the role of support and trust within family relationships.

The curators emphasized that despite the rapid development of technology and changes in lifestyle, the family continues to remain the fundamental basis of society and an essential source of moral support, stability, and life guidance for every individual.
During the meetings, it was noted that nearly all students feel both material and psychological support from their families and loved ones, which helps them confidently pursue education, develop personally, and build their future. Family support serves as an important motivation for young people, contributing to personal growth and the development of responsibility.
Students actively participated in the discussions, sharing their views, family traditions, and reflections on the role of family in the modern world. The warm and trusting atmosphere of the meetings encouraged every participant to reflect on the importance of family values and maintaining strong connections between generations.
It is worth noting that both the International Day of Families and the national Family Day in Kazakhstan are aimed at strengthening the institution of family, supporting marriage, and preserving the spiritual and moral values of society. The national holiday was established by a Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of September.
Such curatorial hours contribute to fostering respect for family, strengthening universal human values, and helping young people realize the important role family plays in every person’s life.
