Goal
To ensure the systematic implementation and observance of academic integrity principles at Ablaikhan University, foster a culture of integrity in learning, teaching, and research, and enhance the quality of education in accordance with the standards and principles of the Academic Integrity League.
Key objectives
- Implementing the principles of academic integrity
To ensure that all participants in the educational process: students, faculty members, and university staff – adhere to the principles of academic integrity.
- Improving internal regulations and policies
To update the University’s policies, regulations, and internal documents in accordance with the standards and recommendations of the Academic Integrity League.
- Ensuring objective assessment
To improve the system for assessing learning outcomes, ensure transparency of assessment criteria, and maintain equal requirements for all students.
- Preventing academic misconduct
To implement systematic measures to prevent plagiarism, cheating, falsification and fabrication of data, unauthorized use of the intellectual work of others, and other forms of academic misconduct.
- Fostering a culture of academic integrity among students
To develop students’ understanding of personal responsibility for their learning outcomes through awareness-raising activities, advisory sessions, seminars, training sessions, discussions, and other educational activities.
- Enhancing faculty competencies
To provide professional development for faculty members on academic integrity, objective assessment, effective assignment design, plagiarism prevention, and the responsible use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the educational process.
- Ensuring academic integrity in research
To uphold the principles of research ethics, proper citation and authorship, and the reliability of research findings, as well as to enhance the quality of the University’s research publications.
- Promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence
To establish consistent approaches to the appropriate and ethical use of generative artificial intelligence and other digital tools by students, faculty members, and researchers, while ensuring compliance with the principles of authorship, transparency, and independent work.
- Establishing effective mechanisms for identifying and reviewing violations
To ensure transparent procedures for identifying, recording, and reviewing cases of academic integrity violations and for applying appropriate measures in accordance with the University’s internal regulations.
- Monitoring compliance with academic integrity principles
To conduct internal monitoring of educational and research processes, analyze identified violations and risk factors, and develop corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensuring openness and transparency of the educational process
To create an environment in which requirements related to learning, assessment, completion of academic work, and responsibility for violations are clear and accessible to all members of the university community.
- Participating in the activities of the academic integrity league
To ensure the participation of Ablaikhan University representatives in the League’s events, monitoring activities, experience-sharing initiatives, and other projects, as well as to integrate effective academic integrity practices into the University’s activities.
