
Chaklikova Assel Turarovna
Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Academician of the International Academy of Informatization (IAI), and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.
Assel Turarovna Chaklikova, Kazakh, was born on January 16, 1971, in the city of Guryev (now Atyrau). In 1992, she graduated from the Almaty Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages, Faculty of German Language. She began her professional career in Almaty as an English language teacher at Special Boarding School №2 of the I. Altynsarin Kazakh Academy of Education. Since 2000, she has pursued postgraduate studies in the specialty 13.00.08 – Theory and Methodology of Professional Education. In 2002, she defended her Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences dissertation entitled «Informatization of Professional Training of International Area Studies Specialists».
Since 2000, she has been working at Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages as a Junior Research Fellow at the Research Institute of Informatization of Professional Education and as the University’s Academic Secretary.
In 2007, she was admitted to the doctoral program of Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages in the specialty 13.00.02 – Theory and Methodology of Teaching Foreign Languages. In 2009, she defended her doctoral dissertation entitled «Scientific and Theoretical Foundations for the Formation of Intercultural Communicative Competence in the Context of Informatization of Foreign Language Education».
From 2009, she served as Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at Kazakh Ablai Khan UIR&WL, and since 2010 she has been holding the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
From 2002 to 2010, she was a member of the Problem Council of Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages.
She is the author of 4 monographs, 5 textbooks, and more than 70 scholarly articles, and holds 3 certificates of state registration of intellectual property related to informatization issues. Two of her articles have been published in journals indexed in the Scopus database.
She is a member of the authorial team of strategic documents of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the «Concept of Multilingual Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan» (2009) and the «Trinity of Languages» State Educational Standard.
She supervises the development and revision of educational programs in the specialty 6D011900 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages.
Assel Turarovna Chaklikova is the Head of the Modernization of Foreign Language Education Based on Cognitive and Linguocultural Methodology and Integrative Competence Modeling in the Context of Infocommunication Educational Technologies scientific school. Within the framework of this scientific school, the fundamental grant project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan entitled «Methodology of Innovative Training of International Profile Specialists in a Corporate Educational Information Environment» was implemented.
Under her academic supervision, a dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences entitled «Methodology for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies in Foreign Language Education of Students of Non-Linguistic Universities”ъ» was completed (doctoral candidate: F.K. Atabayeva). Since 2013, within the framework of the renewed system of training academic personnel in higher education institutions, 3 PhD doctoral students have been conducting research under her supervision.
Assel Turarovna Chaklikova continuously enhances her professional qualifications through participation in various academic seminars and lectures, including: the seminar «Communicative Education. National Branding in the Context of Globalization» (Kazakhstan Communication Association, №63, November 30, 2011); Academic Publishing Workshop, University of Wyoming (March 1, 2012); a theoretical training course in Cognitive Linguistics (20 hours); a research internship at the Center for East European Studies of the University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland), April 8–24, 2013.
