The 6th Week of Korean Studies will be held at Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages from November 28 to December 3, 2024. This year, 130 people from 6 countries are going to participate in the event, including students and teachers from 18 universities, as well as students of the Korean department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Ablai Khan University.
As part of the 6th Week of Korean Studies, the 14th Central Asian Olympiad in Korean Studies will be held on November 29-30, 2024, where participants will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and level of proficiency in Korean language in the format of oral presentations.
The next planned event will be the 9th Conference of the CIS Young Researchers in Korean Studies, where participants will present their reports on various areas of Korean studies. This is a great opportunity for students to exchange experience and new ideas.
The program pays special attention to guest lectures. On November 28, the speaker will be Roh Young Nam, Head of the Representative Office of LG Electronics in Russia and the CIS. On November 29, Pak Nae Chun, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, and Woo Su Han, Vice-Rector of Chung-Ang University of the Republic of Korea, will speak. On December 2 and 3, Kim Hong Hwan, Director of the Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan, and Jeong Byung Kyu, Vice President of Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan JSC, will give lectures to students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies.
The event is organized by the Center for Korean Studies of Ablai Khan University and Chung-Ang University of the Republic of Korea, with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, the Education Center at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kazakhstan, Korean Company Association in Kazakhstan, the Alumni Association of the Korean Branch of Ablai Khan University, Korea Foundation and the Academy of Korean Studies.
