On May 28, 2025, a festive event was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University dedicated to the presentation and installation of the electronic reading screen of the leading Chinese newspaper «Zhengming Jibao». From our university in the opening ceremony took part the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Kagasbayeva E.M., Deputy. Director of the Confucius Institute, Mr Yang Kun, teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Aizhan Khunshan and Hu Hongyu, as well as our volunteer students.
In his speech, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper «Zhengming Zhibao» Fan Jian Shang noted that the digital communications company «Zhengming Zhibao» together with the Institute of Confucius at the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abilay Khan plans to release a Kazakh version of the animated series «Stories told by Xi Jinping». We are all looking forward to this significant cultural initiative.
Our university participates in this important project with great respect. Over its more than 80 years of history, the university has established itself as a leading center for training diplomats, orientalists, translators and specialists in intercultural communication. For decades we have been building academic bridges between Kazakhstan and China, paying special attention to language and cultural exchange. Today, more than 300 students study Chinese at our university, and more than 50 of them annually attend internships and exchange programs at leading universities in China.
