Uniqueness of the educational program
The purpose of the educational program 8D03122 – «Regional Studies» is to create a highly effective scientific and methodological platform for the training of highly qualified competitive personnel in the field of regional studies, with fundamental scientific, theoretical and applied training, proficient in foreign languages, modern information technologies, able to formulate, solve conceptual and practical problems in the field of regional studies. The educational program is focused on the formation and development of research, forecasting and analytical competencies in the field of regional policy and regional integration processes, as a result of which doctoral students will be competent in the research and analysis of these processes.
It is an original research platform in the field of regionalism with an interdisciplinary methodology, focusing specifically on Central Asian studies, namely geopolitics, regional energy and economic diplomacy, analytical diplomacy (Think Tanks), foreign studies of Kazakhstan and Central Asia using international databases and digital tools, implementing national and international projects. The educational program is integrated into Kazakhstan's foreign policy organizations and research institutes. The training focuses on national, regional and international careers.
