September 13, 2019 at the faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Ablai khan, a meeting was successfully held with a delegation from the faculty of Humanities at Waseda University (Japan), headed by Professor Atsushi Ogihara. The 11-member delegation included doctoral students, graduates, and undergraduate students at Waseda University. On the part of KazUIRandWL named after Ablai khan, students studying Japanese in the specialties of “Foreign philology” and “Oriental studies” were attracted to the meeting.
A meeting was held with the dean of the faculty Dauyen D.B. During the meeting, interest in mutual exchange between universities and the possibility of further cooperation were discussed.
During the meeting, students at Waseda University spoke about the creation and history of their university, and also spoke about the features of studying in Japan and the existing scholarship programs. After the lecture, a mutual exchange was carried out between the students of Waseda and KazUIRandWL; students freely communicated in the studied language with native speakers, which undoubtedly gave some motivation for learning the language. The meeting was very interesting and in a friendly atmosphere.
